Hadden Woodburn Memorial Hut, aka “The Bothy”, which is resemblant in every sense of the word except there is a locked door, it’s not open to the public and the KMC will have exclusive use of the hut for the full weekend.
The hut sleeps 25 and has a fully fitted kitchen, alpine bunks, 2 fires (coal is restocked often but there is no guarantee it's there) and a composting toilet.
What is not published on the EUMC website is that the track up to the hut is for forestry and despite google maps showing a nav route right up to the door, getting to the hut actually involves an approx 6km hike. Permission and a key can be granted upon request, anybody have a 4x4?
I also have in writing, dogs are more than welcome at the hut and we can bring as many dogs as we like ("what a hut!" *wags tail), so please sign up your fur babies for a weekend of hiking in a less frequented area of the Scottish Highlands and get their Munro bagging tally up.
